The St. Lucie County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Daniels Antwan, whose life was tragically taken on November 28, 2025, after he was found deceased inside a fire-damaged home in the 600 block of S. Market Avenue. Even as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding his death, family, friends, and neighbors are grieving deeply and remembering a life that mattered.
On that Friday evening, deputies and St. Lucie County Fire District personnel responded at approximately 8:10 p.m. after 911 callers reported a residential structure fire. Fire crews worked urgently to suppress the flames while deputies secured the scene. Once firefighters were able to safely enter the residence, the devastating discovery of Daniels’ body brought a tragic turn to what began as a routine emergency call.
Early observations at the scene suggested the possibility of multiple gunshot wounds. However, on November 29, 2025, updated autopsy findings revealed that Daniels did not suffer gunshot injuries. Instead, the Medical Examiner confirmed that he sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries, prompting a shift in the direction of the ongoing homicide investigation. Detectives are continuing to review evidence, conduct interviews, and collaborate with fire and arson investigators as they work to uncover the truth behind the violence.
For those who knew Daniels, the pain of this loss is immeasurable. He was more than a victim of a tragic incident—he was a loved one, a presence in the community, a person whose absence is deeply felt. His story will not be defined solely by the circumstances of his passing, but by the memories he leaves behind: the laughter shared, the conversations held, the love he gave, and the relationships that will forever carry his mark.
As investigators pursue justice, family and friends cling tightly to the moments that made Daniels special. In their grief, they find strength in honoring the life he lived, not the tragedy that took him. The community stands beside them, offering support, compassion, and a collective promise that he will not be forgotten.
This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward:
