President of American Big Rig Racing Dies at 37
Jamison was well known across Western North Carolina and beyond as the President of American Big Rig Racing, where he not only led the organization but was also one of its brightest stars.
Driving the #20 Freightliner, he earned the nickname “DK,” short for Drift King — a title that reflected not only his immense skill behind the wheel but also his fearless passion for the sport.
His leadership, vision, and ability to connect with fellow racers and fans made him a respected figure in the racing community. Jamison approached each race with heart and each challenge with determination, inspiring everyone around him.
Outside the racing world, Jamison was the kind of man who always showed up for others. Whether helping a neighbor, lending a hand to a friend, or supporting someone in need, he demonstrated daily what it meant to live selflessly.
He worked tirelessly and lived boldly, pouring himself fully into his family, his career, his faith, and the businesses he built with pride and purpose. Together with his wife, Loren Ramsey Gibson, Jamison co-owned and operated three thriving businesses: A 1st Choice Well Service, Appalachian Dumpster & Demo, and Appalachian Well Drilling.
These businesses were more than just sources of income—they were the product of Jamison and Loren’s shared vision, determination, and countless hours of labor.
Their teamwork reflected their deep love and commitment to one another, and Jamison took great pride in creating opportunities not only for his own family but for those he employed and served.
A man of strong faith, Jamison was devoted to his Lord and was a faithful member of Leicester Baptist Church. His relationship with God was central to his life, guiding his actions, his decisions, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.
While those who loved him mourn his earthly loss, they take comfort in knowing he is now experiencing the peace and joy of Heaven.
Jamison is survived by many who cherished him: his loving wife, Loren; his son and best friend, Jayce Gibson; his sister, Jillian Gibson Hawkins, her husband Kent, and their children, Easton and Emma.
He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Glenda Redmond, and his paternal grandmother, Gloria Gibson. Each of them carries the memories of a man who loved deeply, laughed generously, and lived with tremendous purpose.
