Trump Briefed After Shooting Near White House Injures Two National Guard Members

U.S. officials say President Donald Trump was briefed late Tuesday following a shooting incident near the White House perimeter that left two National Guard members injured. According to initial reports, the shooting occurred just outside a security checkpoint on the north side of the complex, prompting an immediate lockdown of the surrounding area.

Witnesses in the vicinity described hearing several gunshots, followed by security personnel rushing to shield bystanders and move civilians away from the scene. The two injured Guard members were part of an enhanced security detail assigned to the area. They were quickly given medical aid by on-site emergency teams before being transported to a nearby hospital. Both are reported to be in stable condition.
