A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder following a shooting in Sheffield this week.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested on November 25 and remains in custody, South Yorkshire Police said.
The arrest relates to a shooting in London Road in the city, at the junction with Ward Place, at around 5.15pm on Monday (Nov 24).
The victim, who is also a 16-year-old boy, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A 15-year-old boy who was previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight, who is the Senior Investigating Officer for this case, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have got in touch so far to provide vital information.
“There is no place for gun crime in South Yorkshire, and I am calling on the public to help us get justice for this boy and his family. I would urge anyone who believes they may have information that could help our investigation and has not yet got in touch, to please do so.
“We are steadfastly determined to put an end to gun crime in South Yorkshire, but we can only do so with your help.”
