Authorities in Tobago have taken a suspect into custody following the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Israel Collin—known locally as “Skeng”—in the Mason Hall community on the evening of Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. while Collin was standing outside Basik’s Mini Mart along Sandy River in Mason Hall. Witnesses say a grey Nissan Tiida pulled up near the storefront before multiple armed men exited the vehicle and began firing. Collin was struck numerous times across his body and collapsed on the scene. Despite efforts from bystanders, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Following the shooting, officers from the Tobago Division launched an urgent manhunt. Acting on intelligence and community leads, police intercepted and detained a Mason Hall resident along Northside Road in connection with the killing. Investigators are now questioning the suspect and working to determine whether additional individuals were involved.
Crime Scene officers processed the area and recovered 24 spent 9mm shell casings, indicating a high-volume targeted attack. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the ambush.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
