Several gang members have been jailed at Reading Crown Court today for their roles in violent offences which happened in Watford last summer.
Marcel Gordon, now aged 19 and of Garsmouth Way, Watford has been sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. This relates to an investigation where a man aged in his 20s sustained a serious stab wound during a targeted attack in Maeme’s chicken shop on 23 July 2024.
On 25 July 2024 at around 3.30pm a disturbance occurred in the park in Meriden Way. Following the violent disorder, at around 5.20pm on the same day, a man was travelling southbound on an e-bike on the A41. An altercation involving occupants of a black BMW ensued and a shot was fired. The man on the e-bike suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital for treatment where he was in a life-threatening condition for some time. Thankfully, he has since made a full recovery.
A 17-year-old boy from Watford, who was the passenger in the BMW during the shooting, was previously found guilty of GBH with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was found not guilty of attempted murder. He has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
The driver, Hekmat Galmne, aged 27 and of Village Way, Pinner, was previously found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life with the jury believing he had fired the shot. He will be sentenced on 13 February 2026.
Carlito Dujon, now aged 21 and of Dodd Road, Watford, was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison for three offences after previously pleading guilty to possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence. This relates to a retaliation shot which was fired by Dujon who was riding a separate e-bike on the A41. He also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life which follows an investigation by the Operation Thwart team. Dujon also pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article which was located on arrest by officers from the Major Crime Unit.
Marcel Gordon, aged 19 and of Garsmouth Way, Watford, was found guilty of violent disorder at the Meriden Way park. He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment. He is now serving a total of seven and a half years in jail.
Desmond Bonato, now aged 20 and of Raphael Drive, Watford, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment at an earlier hearing after pleading guilty to violent disorder in the park.
