Crime of the Week – Homicide Investigation
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a deadly shooting that occurred in Columbus.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at approximately 12:37 a.m., Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Indianola Avenue after reports of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Andrew Santiago suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite rapid response efforts, he was pronounced deceased just minutes later at 12:45 a.m. by CFD Medic 13.
According to investigators, a male suspect was seen fleeing the area immediately after the shooting. Detectives believe someone in the community may have information that could help identify the individual responsible for Andrew’s death.
