Brothers Accused of Conspiring to Commit Violence Against Law Enforcement; Virginia Educator Among Those Arrested

BREAKING: A Virginia high school assistant principal and his brother have been arrested for allegedly plotting violence against police and ICE agents.
John Bennett, 54, an assistant principal at Kempsville High School, and his brother Mark Bennett, 59, were arrested on November 16 after police received a tip about violent threats. Court documents say the brothers were overheard in a restaurant discussing:
• Shooting police and ICE agents
• Possessing an assault rifle capable of firing explosive rounds
• Traveling to Las Vegas to meet with “like-minded individuals” and return with “enforcement ideas and plans”
Documents also say John Bennett expressed full support for his brother’s plans and interest in joining the trip.
John Bennett has been placed on leave by the school district.
Both men are now charged with conspiracy to commit malicious wounding.
