A tragic shooting unfolded on Wednesday night after law enforcement responded to an active shooter report at a home on Huss Street, resulting in the deaths of an adult male and a young child and leaving an infant in critical condition
According to emergency radio traffic, officers arriving on scene discovered a male adult and two infants lying inside the residence. The two babies were found on the floor with gunshot wounds to the head, and the male adult was located nearby with a gunshot wound to the body.
Multiple agencies—including the Tiffin Police Department and the Tiffin Fire Department—rushed to the scene and began emergency medical care. One child was pronounced dead at the scene alongside the adult male. The second infant was transported to Tiffin Hospital in critical condition. Due to the severity of the situation, Tiffin Hospital was immediately placed on lockdown as medical teams worked to stabilize the surviving child.
Preliminary findings from law enforcement indicate the adult male shot both children before turning the weapon on himself. Authorities are currently treating the incident as a possible murder-suicide.
Huss Street was shut down as investigators worked through the night to secure the area and collect evidence. Officials have urged residents to avoid the neighborhood and allow emergency personnel unrestricted access.
The investigation remains active, and additional information is expected to be released as authorities continue to review evidence and notify extended family members.
