Louisiana State University officials are investigating the death of a student who was found unresponsive at an on-campus residence Wednesday evening.
According to the LSU Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Nicholson Gateway Apartments on November 19 following a report of an individual found unresponsive. Upon arrival, authorities located a person identified as a current LSU student who was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
University officials said the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No details have been released regarding the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
LSU stated that support resources will be available for students and staff affected by the incident, and the university community is encouraged to reach out to counseling services if needed.
