Further Details Released in Wednesday’s Triple Murder-Suicide on Huss Street as Community Organizes Vigil for the Young Victims

Authorities have released additional details following a tragic murder-suicide on Huss Street that left three people dead and one surviving adult hospitalized. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, around 6:24 p.m., when the Tiffin Police Department was dispatched after receiving reports of gunshots and screaming.

Upon arrival, officers entered the residence in the 100 block of Huss Street and found four individuals inside. An adult male and two male children had apparent gunshot wounds, while an adult female was unharmed physically but visibly traumatized by the events.

SUPPORT THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS YOU

Officials confirmed that the adult male and one of the children were pronounced dead at the scene. First responders immediately began lifesaving measures on the second child, who was transported along with the mother by Tiffin Fire & Rescue to Mercy Hospital. Tragically, despite extensive medical efforts, the second child later succumbed to his injuries.

Outside the home, officers discovered another adult male deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Based on evidence collected at the scene, authorities are treating the case as a homicide/suicide.

The Tiffin Police Department, in partnership with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), has secured the scene and continues to process evidence and conduct interviews. Detectives remain actively engaged in the ongoing investigation. Out of respect for the families, the names of the victims have not been released pending proper notifications.

“This is an event our community is not accustomed to, and it has shaken Tiffin to its core,” a police spokesperson said. “We ask that residents keep the victims’ families, as well as the first responders, emergency personnel, and all involved, in their thoughts during this unimaginably difficult time.”
Community Responds

Residents and neighbors have expressed deep sorrow and a desire to support the surviving family members. Dawn Hefner, a local resident, wrote on social media:

“This is incredibly difficult to process. The first responders will never be the same, the neighbors will never be the same, hospital staff will never be the same… this community as a whole will never be the same. Can we all come together and hold a vigil for the babies? We all feel helpless and just want to do something.”
