TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – The Tuscola County Board of Commissioners has fired Jon Ramirez, the director of Tuscola County 911 Central Dispatch, effective immediately.
The decision came during a special meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The board voted 3-2 to let Ramirez go following a two-hour closed meeting, but they did not list any reasons for their decision on open session.
Ramirez had served with the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department for 14 years. He was appointed as the Central Dispatch director in 2023.
Ramirez asked commissioners to move quickly on appointing someone to take his place.
“I ask that, in my absence, maybe it’s too early, but that you name an interim so that the staff has a clear direction moving forward,” he said.
