A tragic accident in northeast Salem on the evening of November 15 claimed the life of 56-year-old Quinn Webb, who died after colliding with construction equipment while riding his three-wheeled motorcycle.

Salem Police say the crash occurred around 8:38 p.m. on Hazelgreen Road NE, near 49th Avenue NE. According to authorities, a motorist reported seeing Webb approach an active construction zone where the roadway had been closed. Investigators say Webb bypassed a barricade blocking access to the area west of 49th Avenue and continued into the closed section of the road.

Inside the construction zone — which police confirmed was inactive and unattended at the time — Webb struck an excavator positioned at the site. He died at the scene from his injuries.
