TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a shooting at a south Toledo apartment complex Tuesday morning.
At least seven police cruisers were observed at the apartments located near Airport Highway and Sugar Creek Lane just after 8 a.m. Crime scene tape partitioned off the lawn in front of the building near the street.
A Toledo police captain told WTOL 11 that a person had been shot once and was taken to the hospital. They are expected to recover from their injuries, according to TPD.
Police did not state a suspect in the shooting was in custody, but described the shooting as an assault.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
