A woman was shot and killed in Port St. John on Sunday, November 16, 2025, and deputies have arrested the man they say is responsible. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 23-year-old Tyjah Bellinger has been taken into custody for the shooting death of 28-year-old Lendzi Lakeman.

The investigation began shortly after 12:15 p.m., when deputies responded to several 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 7000 block of Carlow Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found Lakeman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Patrol deputies quickly identified Bellinger—Lakeman’s boyfriend—as the suspected shooter. Following a coordinated search of multiple locations, deputies tracked him to a residence on Dallas Avenue in Port St. John. Bellinger was taken into custody without incident.
Agents from the BCSO Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to process evidence at multiple scenes connected to the case. Based on information gathered during the preliminary investigation, an arrest warrant was approved, charging Bellinger with 1st Degree Premeditated Murder. He is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail on a no-bond status.
Investigators remain on scene conducting interviews and gathering additional evidence to fully determine the events that led to the fatal shooting.
