A Vivian police officer was shot and killed Friday evening during a tense barricade situation on North Pine Street, prompting a massive multi-agency response and the arrest of a 58-year-old suspect.
The incident began around 5:28 p.m. on November 14, when Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies were called to assist Vivian Police after reports that an officer had been shot. According to information gathered by Love Shreveport-Bossier, officers were attempting to serve a cyberstalking warrant at a residence when the situation turned deadly.
As officers approached the front door, Nicholas Edward Alexander allegedly opened fire through the closed door, striking Officer Marc Brock. Brock was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. No other officers were injured in the initial volley of gunfire.
