On November 12, 2025, at approximately 1:46 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a call to attempt to locate a blue Chevrolet pickup truck in the area of FM 1314 and SH 99 after witnesses reported a male and female engaged in a physical altercation inside the vehicle.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office located the vehicle in the 20200 block of Duester Lane in Porter, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of 41-year-old Kevin Doak and 28-year-old Victoria Yates, each with apparent gunshot wounds.
Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and are conducting a full investigation into the deaths. While the investigation remains ongoing, preliminary findings indicate a possible murder-suicide, and authorities say there is no threat to the public at this time.
Yates was originally from Huntsville, Texas. No further details have been released by law enforcement.
