The close-knit community of Wynantskill is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jason T. Cupp, a bright and talented 19-year-old who tragically passed away on November 11, 2025, while doing what he loved most — working on cars at his home.
His sudden passing has left his family, friends, and all who knew him deeply devastated, as they remember a young man whose enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication touched many lives in such a short time.
Born and raised in Wynantskill, Jason was known for his deep curiosity and natural mechanical talent from a very young age. His fascination with engines and vehicles wasn’t just a hobby — it was a calling.
Whether he was tinkering in the garage or helping friends fix their cars, Jason approached every task with patience, precision, and a sense of joy. His ability to take things apart and rebuild them with skill and confidence earned him admiration from both peers and mentors.
Those who knew Jason best often said his hands were made for building, but his heart was made for helping. Jason’s work ethic and determination went hand in hand with his warm, down-to-earth personality. He was someone who never hesitated to lend a hand, no matter how busy he was.

A funeral Mass in Jason’s honor will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Jude’s The Apostle Church, 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill, beginning at noon, following calling hours from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his life, reflect on his accomplishments, and remember the joy he brought to so many.
