Man Hospitalized, in Stable Condition After Officer-Involved Shooting in Clackamas County

NEWS RELEASE: Man in stable condition following officer involved shooting; Major Crimes Team investigating, DA’s Office leads investigation
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an arson call on SE 362nd Ave., near SE Dee Zee Ct. in unincorporated Clackamas County, just outside Sandy.
A 9-1-1 caller reported that his 44-year-old son had set a utility trailer on fire.
At approximately 9:56 p.m., the suspect encountered a responding deputy and an Oregon State Police Trooper, and a shooting occurred. The man was wounded by the deputy and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. No deputies or troopers were injured.
The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave, per policy.
In accordance with standard protocol, the investigation is being led by the Clackamas County Interagency Major Crimes Team in collaboration with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office. Detectives from the West Linn and Lake Oswego Police Departments are leading the investigation with detectives from the Oregon State Police, Canby, Molalla, and Oregon City Police Departments assisting.
