The Te Kauwhata and wider New Zealand community is mourning the loss of Josh Tavita Stowers, a remarkable entrepreneur, artist, and beloved friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone around him. Josh, founder and CEO of Mixmaster, was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought to every space he entered.

A man of many talents, Josh had an impressive and diverse career from Sales Lead at Spark to Resident DJ at George FM, Vice Party DJ at VICE, and Marketing Manager at Moneyshot T-Shirts. He also shared his love of sports and adventure as a Snowboard Instructor at Heavenly Mountain. Academically, Josh pursued excellence, earning a Bachelor’s in Marketing/IM from the University of Waikato, a Real Estate Sales License Level 4 from Open Polytechnic, and post-graduate studies in Digital Strategy at UC Berkeley. Yet, beyond his professional and academic achievements, Josh was deeply loved for his kindness, generosity, and ability to bring people together.
Josh’s fiancée, Kiri Marshall, family, friends, and whānau have shared arrangements for a Celebration of Life, which will be held on Friday, November 14th, at 2pm at the Hamilton Old Boys Rugby Club. Visiting times are available on Tuesday, November 11th, and Wednesday, November 12th, from 9am to 5pm at Simply Funerals, Hamilton. For those unable to attend in person, the celebration will also be live-streamed, ensuring everyone who loved Josh can join in honoring his memory.
Josh’s life was one of creativity, connection, and positivity. He spread good vibes wherever he went, whether through music, business, or simply sharing a laugh. The community is invited to gather in love, remembrance, and celebration to honor the joy, laughter, and unforgettable spirit that Josh shared. May Josh Stowers rest in eternal peace, and may his loved ones find strength and comfort in the legacy of a life so fully and beautifully lived.
