Victim Identified in Deen Avenue Fatal Shooting; Suspect Still at Large

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A 28-year-old man was killed in a shooting on Deen Avenue on Tuesday morning, and deputies are still searching for a suspect.

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says Deunte Myers, of Augusta, died in the shooting.

Richmond County deputies responded to the 2700 block of Deen Avenue in reference to a shooting at 7:35 a.m.

Deputies say they located one victim with a gunshot wound while on scene.

The victim was transported to Wellstar MCG for treatment where they later died, according to the coroner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 8:13 a.m., the coroner says.

Deputies say they are currently looking for a suspect connected to the case.

A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting incident at a cafe in Augusta, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

There were at least three Richmond County patrol cars and multiple investigators and deputies on the scene around 8:30 a.m.
