Benjamin “Ben” Townsend Mosteller, 39, of Smyrna, Georgia, whose family roots trace deeply to Dalton and Chatsworth, passed away on October 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. His life was defined by faith, love, and service—qualities that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ben was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, teacher, and friend. A gifted educator and coach at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, he approached his work with purpose and joy, inspiring his students to see history not just as lessons from the past but as stories that shape the present. His classroom was a space of curiosity, compassion, and laughter. With a master’s degree in history from the College of Charleston, Ben used his passion for learning to foster empathy, integrity, and a genuine love for knowledge in every student he taught.
A man of remarkable warmth and humility, Ben was known for his curiosity about the world and the people in it. He traveled widely, shared stories from his journeys, and poured those experiences into both his teaching and his life at home. His kindness extended far beyond his work—he was the friend who listened, the neighbor who helped, and the volunteer who quietly made a difference wherever he went.
At home, Ben was happiest with his wife Leslie and their two daughters, Ada and Mae. Their bond was one of true partnership, laughter, and faith. To his family and friends, Ben will be remembered as steadfast, joyful, and deeply compassionate—a man who lived his beliefs and carried grace in every moment.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Trinity Anglican Church in Atlanta, with arrangements handled by Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a scholarship fund in his name at The Westminster Schools or to Ada and Mae’s college savings plan.
