Police are investigating an active shooter incident that occurred Monday near Morrisville College, leaving one person injured and prompting lockdowns at both the college and a nearby elementary school.
According to law enforcement officials, officers were dispatched to the South Hall area of the Morrisville College campus after reports of gunfire around midday. Responding units quickly secured the scene and located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment; their current condition has not yet been released.
As a precaution, both Morrisville College and Morrison Elementary School were placed on lockdown while police searched the area for the suspect. Students and staff were instructed to shelter in place, lock doors, and avoid windows as heavily armed officers conducted a building-by-building sweep.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the shooter has been apprehended, though multiple law enforcement agencies — including state police and local sheriff’s deputies — remain on scene.
