A man was killed in a shooting in the Little Woods neighborhood, New Orleans police said early Monday morning.
Officers were initially called to the 7000 block of Lawrence Road in New Orleans East at about 3:29 a.m. The shooting was first reported as a suicide, police said.
Police confirmed there was a dead man with at least one gunshot wound on the scene around 5 a.m. Investigators then determined the man died by homicide.
Police released no other information.
