LATEST UPDATE — Huntingdon Train Stabbings:

A major police scene remains active in Huntingdon this morning following a horrific mass stabbing incident aboard a high-speed train late last night that left nine passengers with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services flooded the area after the train, which had departed Peterborough station, made an emergency stop at Huntingdon following reports of a man armed with a large knife attacking passengers. Witnesses described scenes of chaos and panic as travelers tried to flee through carriages while others desperately rendered aid to the wounded.
Armed officers quickly boarded the train and detained the suspect, who remains in police custody. Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive but say the attack appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Crime scene investigators and forensics teams have been working through the night, while parts of the station and surrounding area remain cordoned off.
Police are expected to hold a press briefing later this morning to provide updates on the investigation, the victims’ conditions, and the suspect’s identity. Commuters are being urged to avoid the area and expect major train service disruptions throughout the day.
