The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. this past Saturday. Police rushed to the bar after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a scene of chaos and two adult men who had been shot. Both victims were immediately transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.
Tragically, one of the men, identified as 35-year-old Devonta Miller, died from his injuries a short time later. The second shooting victim, whose name has not been released by authorities, is expected to survive his wounds.
Investigators moved quickly, leading to the arrest of 32-year-old Andreania Pruitt. She has been formally charged with murder and felonious assault in connection with the shooting. According to detectives, Pruitt and the deceased victim, Devonta Miller, had been in a romantic relationship at one time.
While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary evidence suggests a physical fight broke out inside the bar between Miller and the other man. This altercation is believed to have escalated, leading to the shooting. Police are actively working to determine the precise role Pruitt played in the confrontation and what specifically prompted the gunfire.
Andreania Pruitt was taken into custody shortly after the incident. She is scheduled to be arraigned in court Monday morning, where the formal charges will be presented before a judge.
The Toledo community is left to mourn the loss of Devonta Miller as police continue to piece together the final, fatal moments at the Bottom Line bar. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
