Legendary rock radio icon Pierre Robert has died at the age of 70, according to Beasley Media Group.

Robert was found dead inside his home on Wednesday, October 29, from an apparent suicide, the company said in a statement.
A beloved fixture on 93.3 WMMR, Robert had been part of the station since 1981, where he hosted the popular midday show for more than four decades. Known for his warmth, wit, and deep love of rock music, Robert became one of the most recognizable and enduring voices in Philadelphia radio history.
Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley paid tribute to the longtime broadcaster, saying:
“We all have heavy hearts today. Pierre’s unwavering love for music and his deep connection with listeners made him one of radio’s most enduring and beloved voices. He will be greatly missed.”
Throughout his career, Pierre Robert was celebrated for his authenticity and his ability to connect with generations of listeners. In 2019, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance, honoring his significant contributions to the city’s music and broadcasting community.
