A 7-year-old child was found dead at a Lynwood apartment complex on Tuesday.
Deputies responded to an apartment in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue at 8:30 p.m. for a reported “suspicious incident,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Once there, investigators found the dead child and arrested the youth’s mother for murder, as well as their father and grandmother for conspiracy to commit murder.
The mother was identified as 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, while the father and grandmother were identified as 25-year-old Daniel Monzon and 46-year-old Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, respectively.
Bail for each was set at $2 million.
In addition, three other children aged 16, 13 and 9 months were taken into protective custody.
“The case is still being actively investigated and no further details about the case will be shared in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” investigators said.
“This is an unimaginable and horrific tragedy,” said L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn. “I stand ready to support the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as they investigate this child’s death. My heart breaks for what the other children in this home must have experienced, and it’s critical that our Department of Children and Family Services do everything possible to support them and keep them safe in protective custody.”
