Judge Stanley Allen Kweller was a highly respected legal mind and community figure whose life reflected a balance of intellect, leadership, and compassion. Born on September 28, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he later moved with his family to Chattanooga where his father founded Hy’s Carwash. He pursued higher education with dedication, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emory University before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1977.

Stan’s legal career began in Bristol, Tennessee, where he served as Assistant District Attorney for Sullivan County. He later moved to Nashville, where he built a 45-year legacy as a trusted and fair-minded attorney before serving as Judge for Division IV of the 20th Judicial District Circuit Court of Tennessee. He will be remembered for his integrity, steady judgment, and deep respect for justice.
Outside the courtroom, Stan was passionate about skiing and volunteered for over four decades as a ski patroller at Beech Mountain, North Carolina. He was also an active supporter of community causes, particularly within the Nashville Jewish community, where he served on multiple organizational boards.
Stanley Allen Kweller passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, after a brief illness. His commitment to law, service, and humanity will be remembered for generations.
