Harry was the Director of Bands at Southern School of Energy & Sustainability and a cherished member of the Durham Public Schools music department. A proud graduate of Elizabeth City State University, he was admired for his deep understanding of music and his ability to inspire both excellence and unity in every ensemble he led. His career reflected his passion for youth development, mentorship, and the transformative power of music.
Friends and colleagues described him as calm under pressure, devoted to his students, and endlessly giving of his time and knowledge. He built not just bands, but families—communities of young people who learned discipline, empathy, and confidence under his guidance.
