The community of DeQuincy is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 48-year-old Louis Pool, who tragically passed away in a fatal crash during the early morning hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025, on Big Woods Starks Road near Creek Road in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louis was traveling southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his pickup truck veered off the right side of the road. He overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll and exit the roadway to the left. Louis was partially ejected from the truck and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Louis was more than a name in a report — he was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend whose laughter and kindness touched everyone who knew him. Known for his hardworking spirit and generous heart, Louis had a way of making people feel seen and valued. He loved the simple things in life — time spent with family, cookouts with friends, and lending a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
Those who knew Louis say he was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always showing up when it mattered most. His loss has left a deep void in the hearts of his loved ones and the DeQuincy community. Friends remember him as a man full of life, with a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that could lift even the heaviest spirits.
As family and friends come together to grieve, they also celebrate the legacy Louis leaves behind — one of kindness, loyalty, and love. Though his time on earth was cut far too short, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
May Louis Pool rest in eternal peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.
