According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Juan was a passenger in a Can-Am Maverick off-road vehicle when it was struck by a Nissan Kicks attempting to pass along East Ingle Road, just north of Jasman Road. The collision occurred around 8:33 p.m., and despite immediate emergency response, Juan was pronounced dead at the scene.
