The Rahway Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two women dead Friday evening at the Watt Hotel, Rahway, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
According to authorities, police and Rahway Fire Department crews responded to the hotel following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two female victims suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest that one of the deaths may have been the result of a suicide, though investigators have not yet confirmed the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The identities of the victims have not been released as police work to notify their families. Detectives remained on the scene late Friday night, and the area around the hotel was cordoned off as part of the ongoing investigation.
