The Richmond Police Department has identified the bicyclist who was fatally struck on West Broad Street on October 23, 2025 as 46-year-old James Boggs, Jr. of Richmond.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:28 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Broad Street. According to police, Boggs was riding eastbound on West Broad Street and crossing Bowe Street when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan. The vehicle had been traveling southbound on Bowe Street and was attempting a right turn onto West Broad Street at the time of the collision.
Boggs was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
