A man has been left in critical condition after he was discovered with multiple stab wounds following a violent crash on Cardinal Street in Cheetham Hill on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene shortly after 2:25 p.m. following reports of a disturbance and a vehicle collision in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from several stab wounds near an overturned vehicle, which was surrounded by police tape. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to early reports, the incident began as a car chase involving the victim’s vehicle, which later flipped onto its roof during the crash. Investigators believe the man was attacked immediately after the collision, though the exact circumstances are still being determined.
Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as emergency crews flooded the street.
“There were police everywhere, and one car was completely upside down,” said a local resident. “An air ambulance landed nearby, and they were working on someone in the road. It looked really serious.”
The area around Cardinal Street was cordoned off for several hours as Greater Manchester Police (GMP) forensic teams examined the scene and gathered evidence. Detectives were seen speaking to witnesses and reviewing nearby CCTV footage.
