JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Authorities are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Jeramy Steen early Thursday morning on the Westbank, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto said the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Holmes Boulevard and Athena Avenue. Deputies responding to the scene found Steen ejected from his motorcycle. Despite efforts by emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Holmes Boulevard when it struck a roadway barrier, causing Steen to lose control and crash. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
As part of standard procedure, toxicology testing will be conducted during the autopsy.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
