Authorities have identified the two individuals found dead Friday evening inside a vehicle on Chicago’s South Side as Ashley Medina and Alex Medina, a couple whose lives were tragically cut short in what investigators have determined to be a murder-suicide.
According to the Chicago Police Department, officers responded to reports of two unresponsive individuals inside a vehicle around 7:07 p.m. in the 300 block of West 31st Street in the city’s Armour Square neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man and a woman — later identified as Alex and Ashley Medina — both suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.
While the investigation remains ongoing, early findings suggest that the tragic incident was a domestic-related murder-suicide, police said.
