The Virginia State Police are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Danville man on Saturday morning, October 18, 2025.
According to officials, the accident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Philpott Road, about one mile east of Hackberry Road. A 2015 Chevrolet Spark was traveling westbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway, went down an embankment, and struck a tree.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Demietre R. Brandon of Danville, was ejected from the vehicle and tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that Brandon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Emergency personnel responded quickly, but despite their efforts, Brandon succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Virginia State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Family, friends, and the Danville community mourn the loss of Demietre Brandon, remembering him for the life he lived and the loved ones he leaves behind.
