A deadly shooting outside a popular sushi restaurant in Bentonville Monday evening has left one person dead and another critically injured, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred outside Sushi House, located in the heart of Bentonville, where witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots shortly after 6 p.m. Police say one male victim, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was rushed to Northwest Bentonville Hospital in critical condition.
Moments after the injured man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound, Northwest Bentonville Hospital was placed on temporary lockdown as a precaution. Police confirmed that the situation was contained and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
According to Bentonville Police, one suspect is now in custody. Investigators have not yet released the suspect’s name or a possible motive.
Witnesses described a heavy law enforcement presence at the scene, with more than 20 police vehicles, fire trucks, and special services units responding. Yellow crime scene tape surrounded the parking lot as officers collected evidence late into the evening.
