A tragic scene unfolded Friday night at East Ridge High School when 18-year-old Elisha Redmann collapsed during a volleyball game and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred during the evening match, prompting an immediate response from medical personnel and school staff. The game was canceled due to a medical emergency.
Eli, the son of Trent and Melinda Redmann, reportedly went into cardiac arrest after collapsing and also sustained a head injury during the fall. His mother shared that emergency crews shocked him twice at the scene and were able to restore a pulse before transporting him to a regional hospital for further treatment.
School officials and the community have expressed deep concern and are rallying in prayer and support for the Redmann family. Eli is a member of the Class of 2026
