ST. LOUIS — A woman is fighting for her life following an early morning shooting in the Carr Square neighborhood of Downtown St. Louis on Saturday.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers from the Fourth District responded to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Biddle Street around 1:07 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female victim, identified as Raykel Desiree, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel rushed Desiree to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine a motive and identify those responsible.
