An off-duty police officer tragically died Friday afternoon following a motorcycle crash in Questa. Authorities identified the victim as Anthony Martinez, a member of the Questa Police Department.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on October 17, 2025, at the intersection of Albright Street and Paseo del Pueblo Sur. Police cordoned off part of the intersection while conducting an investigation, causing significant traffic delays in the area for several hours.
Martinez joined the Questa Police Department in May 2025 after serving two years with the Taos Police Department. Prior to that, he spent two years working with tribal law enforcement agencies. Colleagues and community members remember him as a dedicated officer committed to serving and protecting his community.
