Authorities are investigating a tragic accidental shooting that claimed the life of 21-year-old Ja’Cariun Quavonte Amison late Wednesday night, October 15.
According to Midfield Police, officers were dispatched to a residence around 10:45 p.m. following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Amison suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:03 p.m.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting occurred when another individual inside the home was handling a firearm and it accidentally discharged. Officials have not released further details about the person involved as the investigation remains ongoing.
