A tragic incident transpired on Tuesday evening at Jimmie Dyess Pkwy, specifically at the I-20 Eastbound on-ramp, leading to the death of a motorcyclist and injuries to two additional individuals.
At around 8:15 p.m. on October 14, emergency services were summoned to the location following reports of a collision involving a 2024 Yamaha motorcycle and a Jeep. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle was heading north when the Jeep executed a left turn onto the I-20 Eastbound ramp. The collision resulted in the rider being thrown from the motorcycle, which caused fatal injuries.
The motorcyclist, identified as 29-year-old Tyler Ray Dunham from Grovetown, was declared dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Jeep were taken to Doctors Hospital for the treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.
