PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A man was killed Sunday night following a shooting in Pittsburgh’s South Side Flats neighborhood.
According to public safety officials, police were called to the 1200 block of East Carson Street at approximately 10:09 p.m. Sunday for reports of shots fired. Officers already in the area quickly located a 33-year-old man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Officers immediately provided first aid until medics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:27 p.m.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. Investigators with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Homicide Unit are leading the investigation.
Detectives remained on scene late into the night, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Officials have not released any information about possible suspects or a motive.
