Authorities closed off Springfield Boulevard near the intersection of Union Turnpike following reports of gunfire. According to emergency services, the victim is a 15-year-old male who was treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital. His condition has not yet been released.
Police said the suspect, described as a **Black male**, fled the area on foot toward **Hillside Avenue**. Officers are actively searching the surrounding neighborhoods as part of the ongoing investigation.
The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit (ESU) recovered shell casings from the scene, and detectives are interviewing witnesses as they work to determine what led to the shooting.
Residents are advised to avoid the area as Springfield Boulevard remains closed while police continue their investigation.
