The Alexandria Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a deadly shooting claimed the life of a man Saturday night in the 2000 block of Kelly Street.
Authorities report that officers responded to the area around 8:53 p.m. on October 4 following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Juwuan Scott.
Crime scene detectives worked through the night processing evidence and gathering information as part of the ongoing investigation. At this time, no suspect information or possible motive has been released.
