The community of Savanna-la-Mar is in mourning and shock after the body of 29-year-old Kerrian Malcolm, who had been reported missing since Thursday, October 2, was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase in the Gully Banks area of the town.


Malcolm, who resided along Barracks Road in Savanna-la-Mar, was last seen alive around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night, according to police reports. She was reportedly at her home at the time, wearing a brown sleeveless blouse and blue-and-white shorts. When family and friends were unable to reach her, a missing person report was filed with the Savanna-la-Mar Police.

Authorities confirmed that the grim discovery was made Saturday morning, when residents stumbled upon a suitcase containing human remains near Gully Banks. The police were alerted, and investigators quickly secured the area.

Following forensic examination, the remains were positively identified as those of Kerrian Malcolm.

Detectives from the Westmoreland Police Division and the Scenes of Crime Unit are leading the investigation into Malcolm’s death, which has been classified as a murder.
