Jasiya Ahmar Vaughn Woodbridge VA identified as Man Killed in Double Shooting Near Alamo Drafthouse
Prince William County Police said officers were called to the 15200 block of Potomac Town Place just before 10:50 p.m. for reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, identified as Jasiya Ahmar Vaughn, 21, had been shot multiple times. Officers and paramedics administered life-saving measures at the scene before Vaughn was rushed to the hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The second victim, an 18-year-old man, sustained a bullet graze wound. He was treated at the scene and is expected to recover, police said.
According to investigators, the suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting and has not yet been located. Detectives believe the incident was not random, though the exact circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain under investigation.
The scene outside the Alamo Drafthouse was quickly secured as police canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence. The popular entertainment district, usually bustling with late-night activity, was disrupted as officers taped off the crime scene and questioned bystanders.
No suspect description has yet been released. Authorities are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who has information about the shooting to contact Prince William County Police.
Community members expressed shock and concern over the violence so close to a family-friendly hub of restaurants, shops, and theaters. Vaughn’s death marks yet another tragedy in a region where residents have been increasingly vocal about concerns over gun violence.
Police said their investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
