Northside ISD confirmed that the lockdown was initiated after a “suspicious individual” was reported in the Clark High School parking lot. NISD police pursued the individual, though the district emphasized that they have not been able to confirm whether a weapon was involved, despite rumors circulating in the community and on social media.

Both Clark High School and Locke Hill Elementary were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Parents and community members reported receiving urgent alerts from the district and noted increased police presence around the campuses.

The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) stated they are assisting Northside ISD Police in the ongoing investigation. While no injuries have been reported, officers continue to search the surrounding area and interview witnesses.

A spokesperson for Northside ISD released a statement saying:

“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. At this time, Clark High School and Locke Hill Elementary are on lockdown while law enforcement investigates a suspicious individual on campus. We will provide updates as soon as possible.”

Parents arriving at the scene expressed both concern and relief at the swift action taken by school officials. “It’s scary to get that kind of message in the middle of the day, but I’m glad they locked down the school so quickly,” one parent said.

Traffic in the area around De Zavala Road and Vance Jackson Road was also affected as police diverted vehicles away from the schools during the response.

As of mid-afternoon, the lockdowns remained in place while officers continued to monitor the situation. Authorities have not confirmed whether the individual involved has been detained.

Northside ISD has advised parents to avoid rushing to campus while the investigation is underway, assuring families that updates will be communicated directly through official district channels.
